For context of practise we were told to choose 5 Images that communicate our interests and demonstrate a breadth of crative practices. Here are the 5 I chose:
1. 2013 Adobe MAX conference identity by Sagmeister & Walsh
The image above was created by pushing 8000 pencils into styrofoam letters and spraying it all purple. The 3D model took roughly 24 hours to create and a time-lapse of the creation process can be seen Here. The main reason I like this piece of design so much is that it shows us that using a computer isn't always the best and most interesting way to solve a design problem.
2. Pulp Fiction Cassette tape art by Erika Iri5
The main reason I like this design is that it shows that using unconventional materials can make a design so much more interesting. More of Erika Iri5s work can be seen Here.
3. Batman negative space poster by Simon C. Page
I chose this design because I believe that negative space is important in all designs, especially when it can be used creatively in an illustration like so. More examples of creative negative space can be seen Here.
4. Resevoir Dogs Minimilistic Poster by Doaly
I chose this poster design because it's a good example when less is more. I think that this design is so effective because of how simple it is. Another great example of effective minimalistic design is the Apple logo. It's simplicity makes it timeless. More of Doalys work can be seen Here.
5. Humorous Photography by Brock Davis
I chose this photo because it shows that you can be creative wherever you are with whatever you have. Brock Davis uses his iPhone to create really humorous and interesting photos. Another reason I chose this photo is that is shows us that humour is a big part of creativity and design. If you make someone laugh, that means they are interested. more of Brock Davis' photography can be seen Here.
